Factors such as the size of your band are considered. The price for am 11 piece band or a singer-songwriter with just one instrument will different to the price we offer you. We also offer EP, Album & Live Recording Packages, Songwriting Sessions and a Session Band for Solo Artists.

Get in touch to discuss your project with our friendly team and we’ll quote you based on your situation and requirements.

Live Recording in Exeter

Capture the Energy of Your Performance

There's nothing quite like the excitement of a live performance. At The Source Studio Exeter, we specialise in live recording that captures the atmosphere, emotion and energy of your performance while delivering professional-quality sound.

Whether you're recording a live session, intimate acoustic performance, rehearsal, showcase, concert or full band performance, we'll ensure every moment is captured with exceptional clarity.

Professional Live Audio Recording

Using professional recording equipment and high-quality microphones, we capture every instrument and vocal on separate channels. This gives us complete control during post-production, allowing us to produce a polished final mix without losing the natural feel of the performance.

Our experienced engineers focus on capturing high-quality audio from the very beginning, ensuring your recording provides the best possible foundation for mixing and mastering.

Cleaned Up and Professionally Mixed

After your performance, every recording is carefully reviewed and enhanced. We remove unwanted background noise where possible, tidy up any technical imperfections and optimise the overall sound before creating a balanced, professional mix.

The result is a live recording that sounds powerful, clear and authentic while preserving the atmosphere and excitement that only a live performance can create.

Our post-production process includes:

  • Professional audio editing
  • Noise reduction and clean-up
  • Vocal and instrument balancing
  • EQ and dynamics processing
  • Stereo mixing
  • Mastering-ready final mixes

Yes. We can record live performances at venues throughout Exeter, Devon and the surrounding areas. Whether you're playing in a pub, club, theatre, church, festival or outdoor event, we can capture your performance using professional multi-track recording equipment.

Can you record my band's live performance?

Absolutely. We regularly record full bands, solo artists, duos, acoustic acts, choirs and ensembles. Every instrument and vocal is recorded separately wherever possible, giving us complete control during the mixing process and resulting in a polished, professional recording.

What happens after the live recording?

Once your performance has been recorded, we carefully edit and clean up the audio to remove unwanted noise and technical distractions where possible. We then professionally mix the recording to create a balanced, clear and powerful sound that still retains the energy of your live performance.

Do you provide mixing and mastering?

Yes. Every live recording includes professional mixing, and we can also provide mastering if you're planning to release your recording on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube or other streaming platforms.

Can you record live audio for video?

How long does it take to receive my recording?

Turnaround times vary depending on the size of the project, but we'll always agree a timescale with you before recording begins. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality recordings as quickly as possible without compromising on quality.
