Our Background

We recorded this way with Vodka Doll in the 90's, 3 singles and an album for The Collectiv in the noughties, which was recorded on a digital 8 track, then mixed and mastered in Pro Tools by Rick Wolkers. This got them numerous compilations, supports with Hawkwind, Transglobal Underground, Banco De Gaia, Asian Dub Foundation and Senser, slots at Glastonbury & opening the main stage at the first Beautiful Days. Then there were 4 Eps for Selectiv, which were featured on multiple compilations and “Single of the Week” on BBC Radio Devon for “Your Not The Only One". 

There were recordings mixed & mastered by Tom Harrison for 2 Eps and 4 promo videos for The Supermercados, with lots of streams, plays on BBC Introducing, Phonic & Riviera Fm and worldwide radio. 

Then, there were live videos with produced sound for Southern Fried Groove Queens, which got them a heap of gigs, demos for Pack of Animals and an album’s worth of demos and 3 singles for the Kabins. All of which helped these bands reflect, develop and grow into recording & releasing music.

No Ordinary Fish worked with their own producer on the recordings we did for them and the Upper Hand are mixed & mastered by Lawrence Chaplin..

Battle of the Bands - Helping Make Waves

For the past 2 years, we have been recording the winners and runners up from the Devon Secondary Schools' Battle of the Bands. After R&K has recorded the bands, their songs are mixed and mastered by award-winning producer Pete Marten. Then, we help them register publishing and give them a release plan to walk them through the steps needed to get their music released and promoted. 

“The Ghost” by Burnt Daylight was recorded at Studio 8830, with us helping out on both days and was featured on BBC INtroducoing the day before release. “Daemons in Your Eyes” by Absent Minds clocked up nearly 5,000 streams - both are unheard of for a debut single.
